AAA: Dellin Betances was clobbered today, 3 1/3 IP, 3 HR given up, 8 R, 7 H, 6 walks, 3 K. No command at all.
DeWayne Wise had his 2d HR (3-run shot) of the year (Wise? Where’d the power come from) for Empire St. (SWB). Those were the only runs the Yanks would have in a 12-3 blowout.
Jason Bulger gave up 2 runs in 1 2/3 inc. a HR. Mike O’Connor 2 R, 1 ER in 1 IP. Juan Cedeno a scoreless IP, 3 K.
AA: Trenton won 10-1. Shaeffer Hall 7 IP, 1 R, 4 H. 0 walks and 3 K. Jose Gil 2 H, double, 2 RBI. 2 doubles and 3 rbi for Addison Maruszak. Ronnier Mustelier with a double, HR and 2 RBI.
High A: Nik Turley 6 Ip, 1 R, 7 H, 3 walks and 4 K. Francisco Rondon 3 scoreless w/7K. Vidal Nuno 2 scoreless (W). Tampa goes extras, winning in 12, 2-1 on a HR by Rob Segedin. Save to Mark Montgomery.
Low A: Lost in the Montero/Pineda trade is 19 year old Jose Campos, who started for Charleston tonight. 5 no-hit innings, one run (unearned), 2 walks and 7 K. Most thought this kid was a steal as a ”throw-in”. So far in two games at low A? 11 IP, 1 unearned run, 1 hit, 3 walks and 10 K. Let’s hope he progress to High A by season’s end.
The Riverdogs won 11-5. Dante Bichette had a bases-loaded triple. Tyler Austin double, triple, 2 RBI. Anderson Feliz a bases-loaded triple. 3 hits, inc. a double.
I’m excited by Jose Campos and another young arm in Rafael DePaula who I believe is in extended spring training. With Gameday coverage of the River Dogs and Thunder added this year I now have 6 open tabs on a typical night!
