The minors.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

AAA: SWB lost 5-0. On rehab, Chris Capuano pitched well but took the loss since he got no run support. His relief didn’t help either. Capuano went 4 2/3, 1 R, 4 H, 2 walks and 4 K. Ben Gamel, .351, had two hits. He DH’d today.

AA: Trenton gave up a run in the top of the 8th but scored in the 8th and 9th to win 2-1. 3B Eric Jagielo tied the game with a HR (5) in the 8th, and CF Jake Cave’s single won it in the 9th. Jagielo, a lefty-hitting 3B, could be our next Graig Nettles (but the Yanks would have to get rid of Headley, who is signed for the next three years, unless Headley moves to 1B after Teix is gone). .271-5-20 so far for Jagielo. I have said to keep an eye on Miguel Sulbaran, who is overshadowed at Trenton by Luis Severino. Sulbaran tossed six shutout innings tonight and has an ERA of 2.45. He is just 21 and a LEFTY. In his minor league career so far, he is 27-16, 3.21. He appears to be one of those guys no one talks about but who keeps putting up good numbers. Good numbers, just 21, lefty, already in AA. I like what I am reporting about him.

High A: Tampa lost 8-4. 3B Miguel Andujar HR, 2 RBI.

A: 6-2 loss for Charleston, who made five errors. Solo HR for SS Jorge Mateo, but he did make two errors.
