Game 69. Tigers tame Tanaka, 12-4. Moves made.

You get spoiled by Masahiro Tanaka, so much that when he proves he is human, you are surprised. Today Tanaka didn’t have it, and the Yanks lost 12-4.

Before the game, they made some moves. Sergio Santos, who pitched in just two games with the Yanks, is done for the year. TJ surgery. Mason Williams was put on the 15-day DL. Ramon Flores was brought back up. Jose Ramirez down. Pitchers Danny Burawa and Jorge De Paula up.

Burawa and De Paula each made their MLB debuts today. After the game THEY were sent down. Nick Rumbelow and Diego Moreno are coming up.

Victor Martinez had 3 hits, a HR and drove in 4 runs for Detroit. J. D. Martinez had 3 HR and 6 RBI.  The Tigers had 5 HR.  Tanaka gave up 3 HR. De Paula gave up a HR on the first pitch he threw in the big leagues.

For the Yanks, Stephen Drew hit 2 HR (11), and Brian McCann had one (10).

The loss keeps the Yanks (38-31) one game behind the Rays and snapped a four-game winning streak.
