The Yanks got only two hits last night in losing 2-1 to the Angels. It was their third loss in a row, and in their last four losses, they have scored a total of three runs. (0, 1, 1, 1).
Ivan Nova was great, pitching shutout ball until he gave up back-to-back HRs to Albert Pujols (#544 of his career) and Manny Aybar leading off the sixth. Adam Warren made his first relief appearance of the season.
The only Yankees’ run came on a second inning HR by Mark Teixeira. Teix’s 19th HR of the season was #382 of his career, tying Frank Howard and Jim Rice on the all-time list.

The Yanks end June at 41-37 and in third place in the AL East, 1/2 game behind the Orioles and Rays. Toronto is in fourth, just one game behind the leaders. The Yanks are now 1/2 out of the last wild card spot.
