Masahiro Tanaka struggled through six innings, and the Yanks’ four-game winning streak was snapped in Texas last night, 5-2.

After 100 games, the Yanks are 57-43, and six games in the lead in the AL East.

The Yanks scored their two runs in the top of the second. Carlos Beltran homered, #8 of the season and #381 of his career (tying him with Albert Belle). Two out singles by Gregorius, Drew and Ellsbury plated another run to make it 2-0 but that was all the Yanks would get.

Tanaka gave three runs back in the bottom of the second, and Texas tacked on runs in the fifth and seventh.

Before the game, the Yanks DFA’d Chris Capuano, and brought up Caleb Cotham, who made his MLB debut in this game.

Tanaka (L, 7-4, 3.80) 6 IP, 4 R, 9 H, 3 walks and 3 K.
Shreve 1/3 IP, 1 R, UNEARNED, 0 H, 1 walk and 1 K. 1.77
Cotham 1 2/3 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 walks and 4 K. 0.00

Cole Hamels is going to Texas. David Price may still be out there to be had by the Yanks, but the Yanks don’t want to give up any of these four in any trade: Severino, Bird, Judge and Mateo.
