Game 14. Yanks’ skid continues.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

From 4-2 to 5-9. It’s been frustrating.

The Yanks were tied 2-2 after six, but the bullpen imploded and the Yanks lost 7-3 to Oakland on Thursday night for their seven loss in their last eight games.

Aaron Hicks singled in a run in the second, but the A’s tied it in the fourth. The Yanks went up in the bottom of the fourth on an Austin Romine single, but Luis Severino gave up a HR in the fifth and the game was tied.

Chasen Shreve replaced Severino in the seventh and promptly gave up back-to-back HRs. That was the ballgame.

Starlin Castro got an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for the Yanks to cut it to 4-3 but Johnny Barbato gave up a 2-run HR in the eighth, Kirby Yates gave up another run in the ninth, and the Yanks’ skid continued.

Hopefully they snap out of it soon.

Jacoby Ellsbury had three hits, but Yankee batters struck out 14x.

Severino 6 IP, 2 R, 7 H, 0 walks, 4 K. 4.86. Gave up 1 HR.
Shreve (L, 1-1, 2.84) 1 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 0 walks, 2 K, gave up 2 HR..
Barbato 1 IP, 2 R, 1 H, 1 walk, 1 K. 3.00 gave up 1 HR
Yates 1 IP, 1 R, 0 H, 2 walks, 1 K. 5.06
