Kansas City’s Lorenzo Cain hit 3 HRs in the game, but the Yanks won the game, 10-7, on Tuesday night.

With the score tied at 7 in the bottom of the 8th, the Yanks got an RBI double by Brett Gardner to go ahead, and a 2-run double by Brian McCann for insurance.

Earlier in the game, Dustin Ackley had 2 RBI and Didi Gregorius cleared the bases with a 3-run double.

The Yanks offensive breakout was necessary to combat Cain, who hit two of his three HR off of Masahiro Tanaka and a third off of Andrew Miller. In his attempt to tie the MLB record of four HR in a game, Cain popped up off of Aroldis Chapman to end the game.

Tanaka 7 IP, 6 R, 7 H, 0 walks, 4 K. Gave up 3 HR. 3.11
Miller (BS, 1, w, 2-0, 0.71) 1 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 walks, 3 K. Gave up 1 HR.
Chapman (S, 1) 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 walk, 1 K. 4.50

When Chapman was activated, Barbato was sent down.
