Game 33. Yanks blast KC, 7-3.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

Chase Headley FINALLY got his first extra base hit of the season, and it was one of three Yankees’ HRs in a 7-3 win over KC on Thursday night.

The Yanks got on the board right away with Starlin Castro’s HR (4) in the bottom of the first.

Headley’s 2-run HR (1) made it 3-0 in the second.

After Nathan Eovaldi gave up 2 in the top of the fourth, the Yanks came right back with two of their own, thanks to a Didi Gregorius HR (3).

Eovaldi, who went the minimum five for the win, gave up a run in the fifth, but the yanks got two in the seventh on a single by Castro and a bases loaded walk to McCann.

The Yanks are 14-19. They are 5-2 after a 9-17 start. As Joe Torre would say, small bites. First step? Get back to .500.

Ex-Yankee Ian Kennedy started for KC, and Chien Ming Wang came into the game in relief.
