Game 93. Castro the star(lin) in 7-1 Yanks win.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

Starlin Castro drove in four runs with a 2-run HR and a 2-run double as the Yanks beat Baltimore Tuesday night 7-1.

The win put the Yanks over .500 at 47-46.

Castro’s 11th HR of the year put the Yanks up 2-0 in the second.

Jacoby Ellsbury’s RBI single put the Yanks up 3-0 in the fifth.

Baltimore scored their only run in the sixth, and Anthony Swarzak relieved Nathan Eovaldi that inning and did a great job getting out of the jam.

Castro’s 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth made it 5-1 Yanks, and Chase Headley’s 2-run HR (9) in the eighth accounted for the final two runs of the game.

Eovaldi (w, 8-6, 4.93) 5 1/3 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 2 walks, 1 K.
Swarzak (H, 1) 2 2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 walks, 2 K. 4.00
Goody 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 walks, 3 K. 4.50

As for the many trade rumors, too many to report. If the Yanks do anything, I’ll report on it when the trade is made.
