The Minors.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

Jacob Lindgren, a top draft pick who had a great 2014 in the minors (48 K in 24 2/3 IP) and who was 0-0, 5.14 in seven games with the Yanks in 2015, will need Tommy John surgery. He had elbow issues last year, and was 1-0, 2.57 in six games this year, just seven innings pitched. Expect him to miss the rest of this year and all of 2017. Don’t expect him back until 2018. Lindgren is 23. By the time he’s back, he’ll be 25 and would have missed 1/2 of 2015, almost all of 2016 and all of 2017. A tough blow for the kid.

AAA: SWB shutout Lehigh Valley 7-0 on a combined 2-hitter. Dietrich Enns 5 IP, 1 H. He is now a combined 12-4, 1.70 between AA/AAA. 25 yr. old LHP. You wonder if he’ll be a September callup. Aaron Judge came off the DL and had two hits. 3 hits, rbi for Tyler Austin. Kyle Higashioka with a 2-run HR. Donovan Solano and Pete Kozma each had 2 hits, rbi.

AA: Trenton lost 4-1. J.P. Feyereisen, acquired from Cleveland, threw 1 2/3 scoreless relief innings. Jose Rosario 2 hits, solo HR. Trenton struck out 12x.

High A: Tampa won 2-1. Josh Rogers 7 shutout IP, 3 h, 1 walk, 8 K (7-4, 2.47). Jorge Mateo 3 hits, solo HR. Rashad Crawford 2 hits. 2 hits, Zack Zehner.

A ball: Charleston lost 8-4, giving up 7 first-inning runs. Cody Carroll 4 1/3 scoreless relief innings. 2 hits, HR, 2 RBI Chris Gittens. Hoy Jun Park and Nathan Mikolas 2 hits, rbi each.
