Game 115. Yanks win A-Rod finale, 6-3.

Alex Rodriguez went 1 for 4 with an RBI double in what is expected to be his last MLB game (unless he signs elsewhere) and the Yanks beat Tampa Bay 6-3 Friday night.

Starlin Castro drove in four runs with a 2-run single and a two-run HR as the Yanks improved to 59-56.

A-Rod’s first inning RBI double tied the game after Evan Longoria homered off CC Sabathia in the top of the first.

CC gave up a run in the third, but Castro’s single in the fourth gave the Yanks a 3-2 lead.

The Rays tied it in the fifth, but Castro’s homer (13) in the sixth put the Yanks up 5-3. Aaron Hicks homered in the seventh (5) for the final score.

Unless he signs elsewhere, A-Rod finishes 2016 at .200-9-31. The hit was #3115, the RBI #2086 and double #548.His career batting average was .295, OPS+ 140, 696 HR.

The Yanks are calling up Tyler Austin to take his place.

CC tied Joe Niekro on the all-time wins list. He started the year at 214, tied with Mark Buehrle and Rick Reuschel. This year he has passed them, Jim Perrry, Stan Coveleski, Curt Schilling, Charlie Hough, Wilbur Cooper, Mickey Lolich, Freddie Fitzsimmons, Earl Whitehill, Bob Caruthers, Kenny Rogers, Pedro Martinez, and Jerry Reuss.

His next win will tie Jerry Koosman and Tim Hudson.
