S.T. Game 10. Pineda shines in Yanks’ 11-1 win.

Yankee Stadium Frieze
Michael Pineda can be so exasperating. With his stuff, he’s such a tease. With his stuff, he should have been much better than 6-12, 4.82 last year.

Yesterday, Pineda showed how good he could be. In his two innings of work, he gave up a single, got an out, and then struck out five straight batters. You wonder if he can ever get it together and be consistent over a full season.

At least it’s a good start to THIS season. Now to be consistent.

The Yanks routed Detroit 11-1 yesterday to go to 8-2 in spring training. Gary Sanchez homered, drove in 3 runs and threw a guy out trying to steal.

Aaron Hicks was 2 for 2 with a walk. He singled, homered, scored 2 and drove in 2.

Donovan Solano drove in 2 runs, as did Rashad Crawford.

Billy McKinney continued his impressive spring with a 2 for 2 day.

Greg Bird was 1 for 1 with 2 walks.
