S.T. Game 13. Yanks get 3 in 10th to edge Rays, 7-6.

The Yanks improved their S.T. record to 10-3 by getting 3 in the bottom of the 10th to edge the Rays, 7-6.

CC Sabathia started and had a shaky first inning but escaped unharmed. He went two scoreless innings.

The Yanks scored in the first on a double by Sanchez, followed by singles by Holliday and Carter.

They went up 2-0 in the fourth on a single by Torreyes.

Adam Warren followed CC with two scoreless innings but gave up back-to -back homers in the fifth.

After the Rays went up 3-2 in the sixth, Kyle Higashioka hit a 2-run HR in the seventh to put the Yanks up 4-3.

Tampa got one in the 8th to tie, then two in the 10th to go up 6-4. Francisco Diaz made two errors at first to hurt the Yanks.

In the bottom of the 10th, Bird singled, Zach Zehner pinch ran. Diaz flied out but Billy McKinney singled. Both runners moved up on the throw. Ruben Tejada hit a SF.

Pete Kozma walked and Rashad Crawford hit a ground rule double to tie it up.

Tyler Wade then singled to win it.

Ronald Torreyes had 2 hits and an RBI. Higashioka with the 2-run HR.

Dustin Fowler was 2 for 2. Tyler Wade was 2 for 3 with the GW RBI.

Greg Bird wanted to see more lefties and hit them better, so we was working on hitting Andy Pettitte (in for a few days as an instructor) today.
