S.T. Game 20. Yanks beat Phillies, 3-1. Pineda awesome.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

As I wrote before, if Michael Pineda, the big tease, can ever get it together, and get it together consistently…..

Tonight against the Phillies? 15 up, 15 down and 8 strikeouts.

Wow. If we can just see that say, 60% of the regular season.

The Yanks beat the Phils, 3-1, to raise their spring training record to 15-5. Once again, youth was served.

Greg Bird hit a HR. Gary Sanchez drove in a run. Gleyber Torres doubled and scored a run. I still can’t believe this kid is just 20 and headed for AA. Wow.

Sanchez was 2 for 2 with the RBI. He also walked.

Bird was 2 for 3.

Pineda was incredible. Between he, Chapman and Green, they 1-hit the Phillies.

Pineda (w) 5 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 walks, 8 K.
Chapman (H) 1 Ip, 0 R, 0 H, 1 walk, 2 K.
Green (S) 3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 0 walks, 3 K.

A superb outing by all three pitchers. As for Green, another notch in his belt as far as making the team or even beating out Mitchell and Severino for a rotation spot.

Great night.
