Game 93. Yanks lose 6-1, make moves.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

The Yanks made a couple of moves. They DFA’d Rob Refsnyder and Ji-Man Choi. They sent down Chasen Shreve. They announced that Todd Frazier would be at 3B, and they are moving Chase Headley to 1B.

In the meantime, they lost to the Twins 6-1. Jordan Montgomery pitched five good innings but that one bad one was a doozy.

With two out in the second inning, he had men on 2nd and 3rd. He couldn’t get out of the inning, giving up a two-run single, a walk, another single for the third run, then a 3-run HR to Miguel Sano. Six runs.

The Yanks got their only run in the seventh on an RBI single by Gardner.

Gardner 2 hits, RBI.
Castro 2 hits.
C. Frazier 2 hits.

They had six of the Yanks’ seven hits.

Montgomery (L, 6-5, 4.09) 6 Ip, 7 H, 1 W, 3 K. Gavve up 1 HR.
Green 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 W, 2 K.  1.70
Kahnle 1 IP, 0 R 0 H, 0 W, 2 K. 2.43

With the loss, the Yanks are 48-45. A couple of late nights ahead as the Yanks head to Seattle.

Hoping for a trade for a good starting pitcher.
