Greg Bird and Gary Sanchez each homered in Sunday’s 8-5 Yankees’ win over the Marlins. It ups their spring training record to 13-9-1.

Before the game, the Yanks sent down Estevan Florial and Miguel Andujar.

The Yanks got four in the first when Gardner singled, stole second, and with one out,  Bird hit a 2-run HR. Stanton walked, and with two out, Didi singled and Neil Walker doubled in two.

They made it 5-0 in the third when Sanchez homered.

Severino was strong for three innings before faltering a bit, giving up a run on a Brian Anderson HR in the fourth and two in the fifth—Anderson getting an RBI double that inning.

In the sixth, Stanton walked, and with one out, was doubled to third by Didi. After a walk, Brandon Drury singled in two runs to make it 7-3.

Miami got a run in the top of the seventh to cut it to 7-4, Didi making a great play to save more runs from being scored, but the Yanks got one back in the bottom of the seventh when Gardner singled, Chris Gittens walked and Stanton singled in a run.

Wade LeBlanc gave up a HR in the eighth to the Marlins’ Joe Dunand for the final count of 8-5.
