S.T. Game 24. Warren ruins it. Yanks fall, 4-2.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

The Yanks took a 2-0 lead and a one-hitter into the top of the ninth of their spring training game Monday night vs. the Rays, but Adam Warren gave up 5 hits, two of them homers, and four runs, as the Yanks lost 4-2.

The loss puts the Yanks’ spring training record at 13-10-1.

The Yanks got a run in the second when Didi walked, Austin singled, and after a forceout and strikeout, Ronald Torreyes singled in a run.

In the sixth, Hicks walked and Didi singled. After a ground out that moved both runners up, Austin Romine hit a SF.

Then came the top of the ninth, and Warren gave up a single, single, HR, line out, HR, fly out and single before his night was through.

Aaron Judge and Ronald Torreyes each had two hits.

There are rumors that the Yanks and Red Sox could play a two-game set in London in the summer of 2019. I hope not.

No surprise—Jacoby Ellsbury will be on the DL to start the season.
