Game 19. Yanks hit 4 HR in 5-3 win.

The Yankees (8-11) hit four homers in beating Cleveland 5-3 Friday night.

Just as in Thursday night’s game, the game didn’t start out too well, and once again the Yanks found themselves down 3-0 after one inning, and they had to come back to win the game.

That comeback started right away in the top of the second inning. With one out, Aaron Hicks homered (2). Gary Sanchez then singled, and after another out, Rougned Odor homered (2) to tie the game.

Then Giancarlo Stanton homered twice, once in the third inning, then again in the fifth, to give the Yanks the lead and an insurance run. They were his fourth and fifth homers of the season.

Jordan Montgomery settled down after the rocky first and pitched into the fifth. The Yankees’ bullpen pitched 4 1/3 innings of no-run, one-hit ball.

Hicks solo HR (2)
Odor 2-run HR (2)
Stanton two solo HRs (4 and 5)

Montgomery 4 2/3 IP, 3 R, 4 H, 3 W, 5 K. 4.57
Luetge (W, 1-0) 1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 W, 1 K. 4.97
O’Day (H, 3) 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 W, 0 K 1.29
