Game 30. Gleyber drives in all 5 runs in Yanks’ 5-3 win.

Gleyber Torres drove in all of the Yankees (22-8) runs in a 5-3 win over Toronto Wednesday afternoon. It was the Yankees’ 15th win in their last 17 games.

Toronto got a run in the first inning off of Jameson Taillon, but in the fourth inning, with one out, Anthony Rizzo and D.J. LeMahieu singled, then Torres hit a 3-run HR (5).

Toronto cut the lead to 3-2 in the top of the sixth, but the Yanks came back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to go up 5-2. With one out, Rizzo walked and LeMahieu doubled. Torres singled in two runs.

It seems as if when Aroldis Chapman saves a game, he makes us sweat it out first. Such was the case again today, because Chapman gave up a run in the ninth to make it 5-3 before closing out the game.
