Houston couldn’t afford to go down 0-3 in the WS and did not, beating Washington 4-1 in the first WS game in our nation’s capital since 1933.

Washington still leads the WS two games to one.

It’s the first time the road team has won the first three games of the World Series since 1996 (Braves/Yankees).

Twice, Jose Altuve doubled and scored for Houston. He was one of four Astros with 2 hits. The Astros, recognizing the need to win this game, used six pitchers.

San Diego filled their managerial void by choosing Jayce Tingler as their new manager.

ESPN may lose yet another broadcaster to the managerial reins. Aaron Boone to the Yanks in 2018, David Ross to the Cubs next year, and now Eduardo Perez is said to be the frontrunner for the Mets job.

Former Yankees coach Joe Espada, Houston’s bench coach, could be in line for the Giants’ job.
