The minors. Pirela looks ready for a callup.

Yankee Stadium Frieze

AAA: 2B Jose Pirela had 4 hits, 3 of them doubles as he continues his rehab from that spring training concussion. He may be ready for a callup. In his last three games, he has had ten hits. Compare that to Stephen Drew (.155-4-10, OPS+ 68 (7 of Drew’s hits have been XBH)), Didi Gregorious (.222-0-4, OPS+ 53) and Gregorio Petit (.200-0-5, OPS+ 58; an average OPS+ is 100) and you can see that the Yanks could use him. Not only that, but good-field, no-hit Brendan Ryan had a setback, tweaking a hammy.

SWB won 6-5. Besides Pirela’s big day, 1B Kyle Roller had a double, HR and 2 RBI.

AA: Trenton lost 9-3. 2 hits, HR, 2 RBI for RF Aaron Judge. (.319). CF Jake Cave 2 hits (.301).

High A: Tampa got just 3 hits, two by RF Danny Oh, in losing 3-1. On Saturday, Chris Capuano started his rehab with 4 Ip, 1 R (unearned), 2 h, 0 walks and 4 K.

Low A: Charleston won 3-0. Jordan Montgomery six scoreless innings.
